We always have great sales in New York's department stores, but, you are in luck. DESIGNER SAMPLE SALES ARE EVERYWHERE, SOME WITH UP TO 75% DISCOUNT. These can be found in the Fashion District in Midtown; the East Village; Greenwich Village and the Lower East Side and SoHo.

MAGIC EVENINGS:

TREE LIGHTING CEREMONIES and THEEE TREEE (ROCK CENTER)

LINCOLN CENTER TREE LIGHTING & WINTER'S EVE December 1. Features free entertainment, food tastings, in-store activities and shopping around and about this colorful and vibrant neighborhood. Stores, restaurants, cultural organizations and public spaces in the district will be buzzing with activities for both children and adults. At the same time, sidewalks along Broadway from Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle to 68th Street will be alive with performers, street musicians, jugglers, stilt-walkers and more, making for a festive fun-filled stroll through. Actual tree-lighting is at 5:30pm.

ROCKEFELLER CENTER TREE LIGHTING: The 76th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place on Dec 3.,7-9 p.m. The annual event features musical performances from a variety of popular artists. Typically, the Radio City Rockettes perform and there are also ice skaters performing. BE AWARE - Thousands of people come to this event, so it could be impossible to be in viewing distance until about 8pm.

SOUTH STREET SEAPORT: Nov. 28 6pm, with lots of music, entertainment and lots to see and do and eat.

BRYANT PARK:
Dec 2. 5:30pm Gorgeous, with ice skating, holiday market

TRADITIONAL OUTDOOR HOLIDAY MARKETS:
We've already mentioned GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL and BRYANT PARK. Now add these, each one so colorful and amazing:

UNION SQUARE This is one of the busiest shopping areas of the city even without the holidays. So this outdoor market can be enjoyed along with everything that is going on around it.

COLUMBUS CIRCLE/CENTRAL PARK Just across from Time-Warner Center. Wonderful food vendors join with the colorful gift booths. The park setting makes it even more special.

NEW YEAR'S EVE:

The craziest and most fun night of the year-especially if the weather cooperates. The crowds start to gather at Times Square early in the day, with entertainment, favors, friends helping friends. Keep in mind: The NYC Police Dept. is very strict with the rules for everyone's safety, so listen and cooperate and have a ball. A NEW BALL THIS YEAR-IN COLOR! And the restaurants and bars are filled with people and cheer and everything you are here for! Central Park can be filled with walkers on New Year's Day, brunch is served just about everywhere.

Speaking of Central Park, the annual 5-K Run starts around 9pm, then there's music and fireworks at midnight--lots of happy New Yorkers meeting friends to welcome in the New Year. Join in!
